A Winter Lake

I took a short hike earlier today and decided to break in a new lens. As I was taking these photos, I began to realize that there is something I like about the barren, bleakness of a snow-less winter day. I can’t really place the source of the feeling but I think it’s comforting to know that I can find beauty in places that, at first glance, seem to hold none.
