After a short hiatus, I’m finally back with new photos for Kentucky Scenic. This festival, known as Bernheim CONNECT, took place back in September and focused on bringing together art, nature and science. Set around Lake Nevin in Berheim Forest, CONNECT offered dance, film, live music and other art forms as well as beer from Kentucky Ale and grilled foods. I also saw several telescope equipped star gazers representing the science side of things.
I had a pretty good time at the event but there was one semi-major problem that came up. Electricity was provided for the bands but no one had the foresight to set up any lighting so when the sun went down, it took one of the bands a very long time to get their stuff together. They even resorted to borrowing head lamps from the crowd to finish the set-up and to aid in the performance. Over all though, it was a great atmosphere and very enjoyable experience. I especially liked the feel of the lights strung around the lake and through the woods like glowing lanterns. This was first CONNECT but it is supposed to be an annual event so I recommend everyone checking it out next year.
